Colorful Prints Against a Light Background Will be Just as Beautiful!

String pieced star points and Log Cabin blocks are a stunning combination in this Amish style quilt. The black background makes the colors pop and allows plenty of room for straight line or free motion quilting.

Solid colors are beautiful in this quilt, however the pattern will be so charming with prints against a lighter background. There are many design options, allowing for various fabric styles and colors to blend into a wonderful quilt that is uniquely yours.

String Star Quilt Amish Style

This quilt is a little more difficult than some, so it’s probably not for beginners. We haven’t seen the pattern but it looks as though simple pieced blocks come together in the center with a few Y-seams. Don’t panic. Here’s an excellent tutorial for mastering Y-seams.

Take your time and know that your quilting skills will reward you with a stunning quilt to pass down through the family.

The finished quilt is 96″ x 96″.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
