Choose Between Four Block Sizes!

Elevate your next quilt project with this beautiful star block. Four sizes give you lots of options for using it in a variety of projects.

The double-woven star looks complex but is surprisingly easy to make. Plus it can take on many different personalities depending on how you arrange the values and colors.

According to the designer:

“With each new project that you stitch together, you’ll find that no two stars are ever quite alike as patches of different colors appear in assorted formations across the quilt.”

Paper piecing is used to accurately construct the block. Don’t worry if you haven’t tried paper piecing before as this is a great project for getting started with it. The designer has provided an excellent tutorial, which you’ll find here.

The pattern by Ingrid Alteneder from Joe June and Mae includes instructions for four block sizes:

  • 6″ x 6″
  • 8″ x 8″
  • 10″ x 10″
  • 12″ x 12″

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
