Play with Values to Change the Emphasis!
Brighten your table with this striking little quilt that’s charming in any color theme. It’s a fun design because you can easily change the look by altering the value placements.
For example, deep reds predominate in the example, to the point where you may not immediately notice the twirling stars. Lighten the reds and make the background blues darker to make the stars pop.

Batiks and tone-on-tone prints add texture to the design. Small-scale prints will give it a different and lovely personality.

For fun, in the following example, we adjusted the values slightly in Photoshop to place more emphasis on the stars. This is just one of many ways you can alter the design and make it yours.

The completed quilt from Connecting Threads is 24 1/2″ square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
