A Consistent Sewing Habit Produces Big Results!

Do you sometimes find it hard to get yourself into the sewing room? Don’t feel bad if days, weeks or even months have gone by without producing something. Life gets in the way at times and has a way of derailing us from what we love to do.

However, sometimes it’s all about motivation. If you’re not used to sewing regularly, it’s easy to settle into a habit of not sewing. If you love quilting, that’s totally fixable.

Staying consistently motivated can be a challenge, however, even if you do have a regular sewing habit. There are days for every quilter when you just don’t feel up to it and are tempted to skip sewing (which can quickly become a habit!).

Try These Tips to Get and Stay Motivated

Fortunately, Samantha Dorn from Aqua Paisley Studio has written a great article for Diary of a Quilter about how to get and stay motivated. We know for a fact that her tips work. Give them a try. You may find they help you be more productive than ever!

One point we’d add is that sometimes feeling unmotivated is due to being a bit burned out from a large or challenging project. In that case it helps to take a break from it and work on something else. Deadlines help us to stay motivated, too!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
