Or Make the Pillow Shown Here!
Candy canes swirling around a star create a stunning oversized quilt block that can be used in many different projects. Finish it off as a table topper or wall quilt. Or make it into a pillow as shown here.
Striking red and white are perfect for the design and will create a lovely addition to your holiday decor. You may already have fabrics in your stash that will make a lovely block.
Paper piecing is used to create the block. If you’ve not tied it before, go ahead and jump in. You’ll be proficient by the time to finish the block, which will open a whole new world of design options for you. You’ll find good tips and instructions to get you started here, here and here.
The finished block, designed by Tina Curran, is 18″ square. Instructions are included to make the 20″ pillow.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
