Create a Charming Rag Rug From Strips of Fabric
No Special Tools or Supplies Are Required!
Turn strips of fabric into a beautiful rag rug using your hands and not much else. While you can combine strips with your sewing machine, knots work too so this is essentially a no-sew project.
Plus, it’s easy to adjust the instructions to make a rug of any size you want. Whether you prefer a small centerpiece for your table or a large throw rug you can easily adapt the size.
Choose a combination of fabrics in a pleasing color palette. Both solids and prints work well, or use some of both. This is a great project for those “ugly” prints that you haven’t known what to do with. Make your selection based on the predominant color of each fabric.
We had fun playing in Photoshop to create more color combinations.
