Bring Vintage to Life in This Beautiful Scrappy Quilt
This Quilt is Easy Enough for Confident Beginners!
Besides the striking colors, much of the appeal of this gorgeous quilt comes from the controlled scrappy look. There’s scrappy, and then there’s scrappy that is coordinated around specific colors, in this case red, white, and black.
A variety of neutral fabrics in cream, tan, and light gray form the “white” group. Assorted reds and blacks form the other two groups. The fun polka dot black sashing and red corner squares bring order to the controlled chaos.
The scrappy nature of this quilt makes it so beautiful and interesting. The softly colored fabrics give it a vintage look, as well. You can do the same with your version by choosing three color groups. Select a color group for the background and two contrasting colors to feature. You’ll have a gorgeous quilt in your favorite colors once you are done.
The quilt, designed by Sarah Maxwell and Dolores Smith, is 63 1/2″ x 75 1/2″ and perfect for snuggling with on the couch. Add more blocks to make it bed-sized.
Love the Quilt Pattern, Just not crazy about Black in my Quilts. It is just too dark for me. I Like Bright and cheery in the winter time 🙂
