Easily Sort Fabric by Value with This Foolproof Trick

Have you ever had to sort a variety of fabrics by value and just couldn’t be sure about where some fall on the value scale? This trick is quick, easy and sure to be a big help.
The value of fabric, or where it falls on the light to dark scale, is often complicated by color and pattern. Take the color away and it’s usually much easier to sort fabric by value.
Your phone or tablet can help you do that. Take a picture of the fabrics, turn the photo to a grayscale (which removes all of the color), and you’ll instantly see the values.

However, with a little exploration of editing options you should be able to achieve the same results on a tablet or iPhone. It’s worth taking the time to figure this out for your device, as you’re likely to use this trick over and over again.
