It’s Perfect for the Holidays or All Winter Long!

This charming mitten can be hung just about anywhere for a pretty seasonal accent. Hang it on a door knob, a coat hook, the tree or wherever you please and enjoy it all season long.

This piece also makes a lovely gift. Fill the mitten with a few goodies or a gift card for a special personalized gift.

Warm Wishes Pattern

Play with holiday colors or those that work all winter. The happy snowman will be fun against any dark background.

Felted wool was used in the example and makes this the perfect project for trying it out if you’ve not worked with it before. A touch of embroidery creates the details.

Quilting cottons will also work, although we’d apply thin fusible fleece to the mitten and cuff to give it structure (double the height of the cuff and fold it down inside to hide the fleece). Use a machine buttonhole or satin stitch around the outside edges when sewing the pieces together.

The finished mitten, designed by Christine Lockhart of All My Bags & Quilts Too, isĀ 7″ x 9-1/2″ without the hanging cord.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
