Hexie Coasters Are so Easy to Make

Dig into your scraps for a set of hexie coasters. They’re easy to make and will be charming in whatever colors you select.
Go with bright and fun, retro, or anything else. The coasters look great in many fabric styles and color combinations. Match your decor, or make a set for a particular season.

The hexie centers are great for showcasing a lovely fabric. Or, do a bit of fussy cutting to accent special motifs.
You can also do a bit a big-stitch hand quilting, as in the following coasters from Sewing Room Secrets.
These go together so quickly that you’ll have several done in just a few hours. A set makes a lovely gift, too.
The tutorial, from Canoe Ridge Creations, does not specify how large the finished coasters are. However, they appear to be about 3 1/4″ from flat side to flat side.
