Use This Pretty Block Many Ways

It’s Not Just for Valentine’s Day!

This charming block is part of a small 4-block Valentine sampler quilt sew-along (learn more here). However, it can be used in many types of projects and not just for Valentine’s Day.

For example, add borders to the block and finish it off as a small wall or table quilt. Place a block at either end of a table runner. Use it for a pillow front or feature it on a tote bag.

And consider colors for other seasons, with or without the letters. The mason jars make us think of summer so it’s easy to imagine the block made up of bright summer flowers without the letters on the jars.

The applique shapes are a breeze to create with EZ Print Lite Sheets.  Print the shapes on the iron-on sheets and skip the tracing. Or go ahead and trace them out on Heat n Bond Lite.

Once completed, the block designed by Carla Henton for Therm-o-Web finishes at 10″ square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
