Quilted, Folded Potholders Make Great Gifts
Tuck in a Spatula and Recipe for a Special Gift!
This simple quilted potholder is so easy to sew, yet it makes a big impression. The pocket is perfect for including a recipe the recipient will love, and a colorful spatula or other tool.
These potholders are great for housewarmings, newlyweds, bridal showers, Christmas, and … well, you’ll think of many times for giving these as quick, yet personalized (with your most requested recipe!) gifts.
Laraine from Connecting Threads made the potholders up in Christmas fabrics. Special attention was given to cutting the directional cat eyes fabric.
As you can see from the step-by-step instructions, they’re quite easy to put together. As an added plus, a nice tutorial for binding, which will work with any small quilt, is included in the tutorial.
This is a great project for using up some of those fabric scraps and leftover batting! Insul-Bright and batting are used for insulation, so fingers will be safe from hot surfaces.
When completed, simply add a recipe card, a colorful spatula, and tie it all together with a ribbon.
Voila! A cheery, personalized gift. You don’t need to tell anyone how quick and easy it was!
