It’s Perfect for Leftover Charm Squares!

This charming runner is so simple to make and it will be wonderful in colors for any season. Or, choose a combination of 5″ charm squares in a color combination you love and enjoy the runner all year long.

The patriotic version below, from Fat Cat Quilts, shows how festive the runner is made up in red, white, and blue prints.

We wanted to see the runner in another two-color combination so we played in Photoshop a bit to produce the following variation.

A variety of complementary colors are just as charming.

Monochromatic versions are lovely too. The runners below are from @milliemorgan.

This is the perfect project for leftover charm squares. Have fun putting a nice selection together.

To make the runner, create three blocks from the “Charming Stars” quilt tutorial by Stefanie Roman. Sew them together end to end, layer, quilt, and bind. The finished runner will be about 13 1/2″ x 40 1/2″.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
