They’re Sized for Fat Quarters!

These easy fabric baskets can be as simple or decorative as you want. The basic version goes together quickly for handy storage in the sewing room (and elsewhere).

The baskets were designs for fat quarters folded into 5″ squares. That makes them perfect for other pre-cuts as well.

The designer, Grete Greenshpon, made a variety of baskets for storing her stash. Some are plain and some are quite decorative, but all of them are colored to match the fabrics they contain. That makes it easy to find just what she’s looking for.

Fabric Baskets Tutorial

Whether you make one basket or several, decorate yours however you wish with quilting, patchwork, machine embroidery or decorative trims. This is an easy project that allows plenty of room for creativity so have fun with it.

The baskets also make lovely gifts, and can be used all around the house. They are about 9 7/8″ w x 5 1/4″ d  x 6 5/8″ h.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
