We Love the Graceful Shape!

This handbag is not only beautiful but also a lovely way to showcase a favorite combination of prints. The long shoulder strap allows it to be used as a crossbody bag or shorten the length if you prefer.

The bag’s contents are secured with a wide flap and a 30mm (1 ¼ ”) round metal twist/turn lock (or similar size) reinforced with a scrap of fusible fleece. Or use a large button or velcro to keep the flap closed.

Start with five coordinating fat quarters or use one beautiful fabric for the body and coordinating prints for the strap and lining. A medium-weight woven fusible interfacing (such as Pellon SF101) and a scrap of medium-weight sew-in interfacing (like Pellon 40) help the bag retain its shape.

Lmatsu reduced the size by 25% and used a button for closure.

Designed by Susan Dunlop from Susie D Designs, the completed bag is 10 1/4” x 13 3/8”.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
