Make a Pretty Pillow to Enjoy Any Time of the Year
Substitute Other Blocks for the Heart!
Simple patchwork is accented with a heart block in this lovely pillow. It’s a simple project that goes together quickly.
Plus, it will be great in any color theme. Play with goodies from your stash to make your own version.
The pattern calls for a pack of Moda Treats, which is made up of forty-two 3 1/2″ squares. You can cut your own, if you wish, from fat quarters or yardage.
Instructions are included for a zippered pillow back. Plus, you can substitute any 6″ (finished) block for the heart, as was done with the star version shown above.
Mini charms (2 1/2″) can also be used, as @zblgran did in the example above. Borders cut at 3 1/2″ will bring the top up to the original size, or go narrower for a smaller pillow. The heart block finishes at 4″ square.
The finished pillow, designed by Sterling LaBosky from Sterling Quilt Co. for Moda Bakeshop, is 18″ x 18″.
